Happy hump day, everyone!
Welcome to my monthly installment where I delve into what’s been going on in my life, what’s been on my mind— and starting this month, what’s been on other people’s minds as well! As always, thank you so much for being here.
Btw, this post is a bit overwhelming for email. Get the app or view directly on Substack for the full article.
Oh, April.
The first full month of Spring. In April, I celebrated 6 months of being on Substack. I gained 28 subs this month for a total of 324! (Hi!! Thank you so much!)
Here’s what I did to achieve that:
I sparked an unexpectedly interesting conversation about paper.
I made a semi-viral post about one of my cats.
A comment and a reply I made about routines oddly became extremely successful pieces. (Which, now I see I was wrong and people do care about this and I will definitely pen a post about it later!)
I also posted a picture of a sunset. When in doubt, this is *the* post to make.
April Stacks:
So there you have it.
I never go into any month with a 10X GROWTH PLAN. I do not roll like that. I do not consume any HOW TO GROW ON SUBSTACK content. In fact, I talked about that this month, too.
People seem to like when you’re just being a normal person and posting about life in general.
No longer do we want messages of how to improve and optimize every facet of our lives. People just want to know where the other normal people are.
Hi. It’s me. I’m the normal person, it’s me.
With that, here is a look into my normal, everyday life.
When I rebranded this blog last month, I set out for this to be a space of wonder. A place where I could wonder about things and wonder at things.
So here are some things I’ve wondered about in April:
The mental and physical state of 2 members of my family
How to keep the neighborhood cats from peeing and pooping in the flowerbed I’m trying to start for my floral design business
How can I better align with opportunities and abundance?
Why am I not losing weight if I’m doing “everything right?”
How can I learn to trust better?
How can I let go of control just a little more?
Where will volunteering lead me?
And here are some things other people have been wondering about:
was wondering about the point of life, stress, money, and how to feel like you matter “in a world filled of billions”. was wondering about sleep, exhaustion, fading communications, coffee, and vanishing pens and people. So, as you can see, there are some fantastically deep and thought-provoking questions going around. Always.
Thank you so much for being here with me today. I hope you found some of this interesting and helpful. If you did, will you take a moment to like/comment on/share this post? I’d love you forever.
I hope you head into May with tons of wonder and whimsy.
